CASE STUDY
Public Utility Law Conference.
The Challenge
The pivot from an in-person format to a virtual setting for the Public Utility Law Conference presented a unique set of challenges. Tasked by the Public Utility Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, PixelForge needed to recreate the comprehensive, engaging, and informative experience of the conference in an online environment. This transition was not just about moving content online; it involved creating a digital experience that was engaging, compliant with the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements of the State Bar, and reflective of the conference's prestigious reputation. The undertaking was immense, given the reliance on historical in-person event data to craft an entirely new online format.
The Process
Our approach was multifaceted and rooted in a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities presented by online events. We began by deploying the conference on the Enterprise Video Streaming platform by IBM Watson Media, ensuring we had a robust foundation for integrating live and on-demand content, complete with viewer email-based authentication and tailored branding for a seamless user experience. As the legal community's familiarity with online tools grew, we made a strategic decision to transition the conference to Zoom Webinars, further enhancing the interactive experience for attendees using a platform known for its ease of use and reliability.
Our role extended far beyond the technical aspects; we acted as consultants, advising on best practices for online engagement, coordinating pre-recorded content, scheduling rehearsals with high-profile speakers, and ensuring all technical executions were flawless. We also took great care in developing a distinct brand identity for the online event, ensuring consistency with the State Bar of Texas's branding guidelines and elevating the overall presentation quality with high-quality video production.
A crucial part of our strategy was the implementation of a viewer support hotline, staffed by experienced specialists who were on hand to assist attendees with any technical or event-related inquiries, ensuring a smooth and accessible event experience for everyone involved.
Some Key Elements of our contribution included

By maintaining a focus on high-quality video production, seamless technology integration, and comprehensive attendee support, we helped the Public Utility Law Section not only meet but exceed its goals for the conference. The successful adaptation to an online format demonstrated the potential for high engagement and compliance within a virtual setting.
As the event has evolved, incorporating both virtual and in-person elements, we've continued to adapt our services to meet the changing needs of our client.
